In this time of accountability, the number of schools and districts in restructuring continues to increase. The focus of this symposium was to explore successful restructuring efforts by these agencies. During this symposium, state teams had the opportunity to:
- Explore findings from recent research in the areas of restructuring and turnaround schools
- Discuss district and state actions that support schools in restructuring status, including the strategic use of School Support Teams
- Learn about the characteristics of schools that have moved out of restructuring status and the issues they faced during the process
SEA Teams
The NWRCC supported a five-member team from each state.
We encouraged each SEA to send a team that included staff in the following roles:
- Assistant / Deputy Superintendent
- Federal Programs Director -Title I, Title II
- School Improvement
- School Support Team coordinator (state level)
- Special Education / RTI
