American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Webinar (Part I)

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 - 1:00pm - 2:30pm
Webinar
Event sponsored by NWRCC

NWRCC conducted a webinar for SEA staff in the region (Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming) on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The purpose of the webinar was to provide an opportunity for SEA leaders to discuss and share plans, strategies, questions, and insights regarding the use of the education-related funding in the stimulus package, particularly as it relates to Title I and School Improvement. The webinar allowed participants to learn from their colleagues in other states and thus better formulate state plans and strategies for administering the funds received through this legislation.

The NWRCC staff facilitated a discussion among the participants on these (and other) questions:

Where are you in the process of making decisions about the use of the funds?
Have you been able to make decisions about funds that have flexibility regarding their use?
What additional federal guidance is needed on how to use some of the funds?
What are your initial thoughts about using these funds?
What are your major concerns?
