Response to Intervention: Evaluating RTI Initiatives

Wednesday, June 4, 2008 (All day) - Thursday, June 5, 2008 (All day)
Symposium - Portland, OR
Event sponsored by NWRCC

One important goal of NWRCC is to increase the capacity of each state education agency to build, support, and sustain an integrated response to intervention system that will improve student learning by coordinating efforts across general and special education. This event built on previous NWRCC RTI symposia and focused on evaluating RTI initiatives at the state, district, and school levels. The NWRCC supported teams of up to five members from each state to attend the symposium. The agenda provided time for state teams to reflect upon and apply the content of the sessions to their context.

Outcomes - SEA Leaders:

  • Explored critical elements of RTI evaluation
  • Considered strategies for developing an RTI evaluation plan
  • Examined ways to help districts and schools effectively evaluate RTI efforts
