Nancy Protheroe
Nancy Protheroe is a member of the Center on Innovation & Improvement's Scientific Council and has also been a long-time employee of the Educational Research Service (ERS). She is author of several publications on school and district improvement and, with Gordon Cawelti, conducted one of the first national studies of high-performing school districts.
She is currently working with a CII project—developed in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education and Edvantia—designed to increase the capacity of school districts to support school improvement.
Paul Reville
Paul Reville is the president of the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy; an independent, policy and research organization dedicated to the improvement of pre K-12 public education, especially in Massachusetts. The Rennie Center conducts research, convenes policy makers and shapers, and advocates for solutions to the state and nation's most formidable educational challenges. Paul is also the Director of the Education Policy and Management Program and a lecturer on educational policy and politics at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He also serves as the Co-Chair of the National Center on Time & Learning, a newly established organization dedicated to expanding learning time to improve student achievement and enable a well-rounded education for all children. Most recently, Paul was appointed the chairman of the Massachusetts State Board of Education by Governor Patrick.
Paul has a long history of educational leadership at the national, state, and local levels. He is the former executive director of the Pew Forum on Standards-Based Reform, a Harvard-based, national education policy "think tank" which convened the nation's leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. He is a graduate of Colorado College and holds a Master's degree from Stanford University.
Keith Speers
Keith Speers is the Director of Field Relations for the Ohio Department of Education where he oversees the development and implementation of Ohio's Statewide System of School Improvement Support. He spent 13 years as the founder and CEO of BK Business Solutions, an international consulting company with locations in over 40 countries and five continents focused on organizational improvement and business re-tooling. Speers is also the former Executive Director for Associated Students, Inc.— a not for profit organization that designs and coordinates development of college and university educational environments for students outside of the classroom. Additionally, he worked in Higher Education as both a professor and administrator for both public and private universities, including Miami University, the University of Dayton, and Northwestern University. Speers holds a B.S. in Education and English from Wilmington College and a M.S. in Counseling and Organizational Behavior from Miami University. His research and writing interests center on managing organizational change and conflict, providing leadership in changing environments, and developing cultures of change.
